The flexible, modular and scalable sorter
Basing on our FlexTechnology, the GridSorter was developed within the scope of a research project at the Institut für Fördertechnik und Logistiksysteme (IFL) of the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT). Under the direction of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kai Furmans new algorithms were developed that allow for the first time the completely decentral controlling of the Sorter. Due to the modularity and flexibility of the system, new possibilites besides classical usage were created.
Flexible adaptions of the layout
The GridSorter can be easily adapted to your needs. The layout as well as the infeed and outfeed positions can be adjusted according to the requirements.
The GridSorter has a compact construction technique. With an output of 3.000 up to 12.000 units per hour the GridSorter has an advantageous proportion of throughput and area covering. Depending on the layout of the sorter, the modules it consists of have different utilization. The software is able to detect less utilized modules and to react according by using these modules for buffering of goods.
